- Is your reputation worth $49 million dollars? Apparently it is for Heather Mills
- I don’t want to fall in God’s “detest” category Proverbs 15:8-9
- Steven Furtick is rocking it for God,
and the team he brought to Unleash is crazy!
P.S. Have I mentioned that Steven is a huge inspiration to me, he is! I wanted to meet him at the conference, but never got around to it. - I have a new Joke, it is horrible just like the last one:“Old musicians never die, they are just disconcerted.”
- A couple of more Unleash thoughts: #1 One of Perry Noble’s points in session 2 was to remember where God called us, I’ve been thinking about that a lot since Thursday…I remember God called me to preach when I was 12 I was serving with a Migrant Missions Ministry with our local church. – I feel like I’ve wasted a lot of years, I’ve definately messed up, but I know that I have always followed Christ the best I could over the years. #2 Perry shared that he thought Jesus could care less about who our next President is, His main concern is to see the lost saved, he mentioned that God fulfilled his will even with Pharaoh and other wicked leaders in power. I agree, I was reading in Jeremiah the other day and God told Jeremiah that his people would be spared if they obediently subjected themselves to King Nebuchadnezzar (Jeremiah 27:6-8, 17) We may be political people, but Jesus is not, and he can accomplish his Will whether we have a Republican, an Independent, or a Democrat in office. God wants us to share His Good News not divide ourselves over politics and to prostitute our churches for a political association.
- I thought about this the other day…I’ll post more about it later, but…

Who Saw This Coming? Georgia Bulldogs Win SEC Championship!

The Georgia Bulldogs won the SEC Championship in basketball today. Who saw that coming? After only winning 4 conference games this year…I certainly didn’t see it. However, I guess the tornadoes rocking their home state served as enough motivation to win 4 games in 4 days, 2 of the 4 on Saturday, one against a strong Kentucky team, and the second against the SEC West regular season champs, Mississippi State. The Georgia Bulldogs earned a NCAA tournament bid with their championship run. They are ranked 14th and will play the #3 Xavier team. A huge challenge, so we will see what happens!
The Church Being the Church: A Sunday Review

We canceled services today at church (the church @ greenbrier). Last night several local cities and communities were devastated by tornadoes. As you can see in the picture provided some people lost everything, while others sustained major damage to their homes and property. Reports of businesses and churches being completely destroyed have been circulating, more pictures can be seen on WRDW 12’s site.
Instead of having church today, we lived it out. We became Jesus to the immediate community where our church body meets. We helped some of our immediate members who’s yards were destroyed by the tornados, and then we went door to door seeking people who needed assistance cutting trees off of roofs and fences. We were able to help out several people, but many wanted to wait for insurance to give further instructions before they attempted to clean up any damage.

Humble Me!
Dear God,
Please humble me! Please make me lower…make me decrease so you can increase. May your influence through my life lead people to you and not divide people and turn them away. May I never preach messages like these. May I never speak out against your anointing, your men, your people, your creation, your church. God I want you to use me, but not at the expense of hurting another man of God or his ministry. Thank you Lord that churches all across America are exploding for you because they refuse to allow man to hold them back, instead they are being obedient to you and your word. My God! If you would be so generous to allow my life to count for as much as you have the lives of men like Perry Noble and Billy Graham. Lord, I know you love men like Pastor Steven Anderson, and I pray that you would change his heart, and that though he may have his own opinions, that you would humble him, change his heart, use him greatly for your ministry, and give him a deep love for your people and your pastors. Forgive him for his venomous attacks towards your men. Lord only you can change his heart and his mind. Lord may I never represent you in an ill fashion.

Unleash 2008 Session 2 Highlights
Session 2 of the 2008 Unleash Conference was probably one of the best messages I have ever heard from Perry. Last years closing session was close, but I think this one topped it. I didn’t take too many notes, as I was fully engaged in what he was saying, plus Shane and Hank and I were all agreeing every time Perry said something. I did find out however, that Perry used to come to Augusta a lot to meet his now wife for dinner on the weekends when she was studying at the MCG hospital. I knew Perry didn’t get all of his anointing from Anderson, SC, but God used my hometown of Augusta, GA to help!
Session 2:
Perry used an example of Moses from Exodus 4:1-7
- Main Thought: Encouragement to Senior Pastors with a challenge to their staff
5 Things Senior Pastors MUST Do:
1. Deal with your pride & insecurities – (This is good for any pastor) (Vs. 1) One of the most dangerous things for a pastor can be success, many people let a little bit of success make them prideful. – YET, God accomplished a lot through a Donkey, we should not forget this!
In verse 1 Moses dealt with his insecurities (“What If”) – Pastor are you a Prophet of God or a Prostitute of your church? If God puts something on your heart to say, then say it…don’t say what you feel will be acceptable to the congregation!
(1 Corinthians 1:26-31) To help overcome insecurities we must go back to where God called us. God doesn’t change his mind. – Pastors did not sign up or volunteer for this, God called them.
2. Use Your Staff – (Vs. 2) (Perry used the illustration of Moses literal staff to paint a picture of a church staff – Brilliant!) God gave Moses his staff so he could lean on it, he did not give the staff Moses, so the staff could lean on him. Staff should stand with their pastor, get his back. Pastors should take care of their staff, their personal needs, financial needs (Pay your staff what it would cost to replace them, not the bargain you think you got them at), and make sure they don’t allow the ministry to come before their homes! (I wish I would have had that kind of pastor when I was full time – oh well) (Hebrews 13:17)
3. Take God Directed Risks (Vs. 3) Many pastors run from God directed risks versus embracing them.
(Vs. 4) God wanted Moses to take a risk, one where if God did not intervene, he would get bit (He told Moses to pick the snake up by the tail) – God wants pastors to take risks where if God does not come through it will be a total failure.
4. Understand at times its going to hurt (Vs. 6) – Criticism, Dealing with People’s hurts and Problems, Pressure, Stress, Worry, People taking advantage of you, etc.
5. Follow God’s Leadership (Vs. 7)
