Classics

I picked up a few classics today while out at the stores. 2 of which Nicki grabbed and got Gavin to help wrap for my Birthday tomorrow, but when I saw them I had to grab them. First is Cobra, one of my all time favorite children’s movie (hey I was 6 when it came out!) I grew up with a good dose of Stallone, so this is one of my favorites. The second was Karate Kid. I cannot tell you how many times I have seen this movie, it was $5 and with Gavin now taking karate and a PG rating, it was a great pick up for me and the family. Finally, when I saw Master of Disguise it was another have to. If you have never seen the movie, then all I can say is “You’re not turtley enough to be in the turtle club!”

I am finally below 180 pounds!!!
After I got married 7 years ago, I went immediately (within 2-3 months) from 145 pounds to over 180, an I have fluctuated from 185-198 in the years since. Most of my problems came from the lack of activity, in High School I played every sport I could and I Waited tables, after High School I worked for the Electric Company (SCE&G) reading meters, so I walked all day, but my biggest problem has been my addiction to Coke (Coca-Cola Classic, not the drug) and the food I eat.I gave up Coke (except in certain situations) a year ago and ever since my surgery I have been on a strict diet, so I have lost a total of 12 pounds since the surgery. My target weight is 165, and of course I want to tone up! I am going to celebrate!!!

Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves

My wife lost my Robin Hood movie a long time ago, so I have been trying to find it in stores. Saturday we were at the flea market in S. Augusta and I found a copy in excellent condition for $1

Weekend Flashback

Here’s My Weekend Flashback…
  • Friday night Nicki and I ate dinner at Sconyers BBQ…for the 2nd week in a row! This week I got something different to mix it up.
  • Last week, the transmission in My Ford Explorer slipped bad twice as I was getting on the interstate, so Nicki and I decided it was time to let it go (It was a good vehicle over the past 4 years) I bought it 4 years ago and it did not give me any major issues other than the transmission every once in a while until lately. If the transmission went out we would have lost the trade value so we parted with it.
  • We got a 2005 Nissan Altima S. We test drove one back in 05 before we got Nicki’s X-Terra and loved it, so that was the first thing we got…we cannot really afford another payment, but I guess I will be finding a second job after the windows are finished at the mall. The car is pictured below:

  • I got to go to the YS Conference in Atlanta Saturday night and all day Sunday. Doug Fields was in town speaking and doing a couple of seminars, so I went up to help serve as a consultant for Georgia area youth pastors and workers. A bonus was seeing Louie Giglio speak, seeing Family Force Five in concert for the first time, and seeing Chris Tomlin and David Crowder.
