Breaking News from Paul

I have had one message for Jews and Greeks alike—the necessity of repenting from sin and turning to God, and of having faith in our Lord Jesus.
Acts 20:21Paul is one of the greatest preachers of all times. Yet, he did not spend his time while on his missionary journeys preaching and teaching stuff that does not matter in the church, his message was clear and simple. Repent from sin, turn to God, Have faith in Jesus. That’s it! There was no teaching on style of worship, what to wear, when and where to meet, how many songs should be played and in what genre, what translation to use, the pastor is the only one that can use the high pulpit, or any of the other nonsense that we are exposed to in the church.

Repent – Turn – Faith

Paul knew what the most important message was, and with his limited time with each church and with each group of people, he decided these three things were the ‘most important’ to focus on. If he thought anything else was equal to or more important than these three things, don’t you think he would have preached on them?

Karate Kid Gavin

I got this video while I was sneaking a peak at Gavin in his Karate Practice. He’s a natural Karate Kid, in fact we watchedthe movie tonight for the first time together. He feel asleep, but I enjoyed the entire movie.

The Chuck Gordon Christmas Ornament

I won the Chuck Gordon (Pastor at the church @ Greenbrier) Christmas Ornament last night at our Community Group Party. After Christmas this will become my work out buddy. Chuck claims this picture was after 1 day at the gym…I am going to the gym to see if that is true! However, doesn’t it look great on my tree?

Classics

I picked up a few classics today while out at the stores. 2 of which Nicki grabbed and got Gavin to help wrap for my Birthday tomorrow, but when I saw them I had to grab them. First is Cobra, one of my all time favorite children’s movie (hey I was 6 when it came out!) I grew up with a good dose of Stallone, so this is one of my favorites. The second was Karate Kid. I cannot tell you how many times I have seen this movie, it was $5 and with Gavin now taking karate and a PG rating, it was a great pick up for me and the family. Finally, when I saw Master of Disguise it was another have to. If you have never seen the movie, then all I can say is “You’re not turtley enough to be in the turtle club!”

I am finally below 180 pounds!!!
After I got married 7 years ago, I went immediately (within 2-3 months) from 145 pounds to over 180, an I have fluctuated from 185-198 in the years since. Most of my problems came from the lack of activity, in High School I played every sport I could and I Waited tables, after High School I worked for the Electric Company (SCE&G) reading meters, so I walked all day, but my biggest problem has been my addiction to Coke (Coca-Cola Classic, not the drug) and the food I eat.I gave up Coke (except in certain situations) a year ago and ever since my surgery I have been on a strict diet, so I have lost a total of 12 pounds since the surgery. My target weight is 165, and of course I want to tone up! I am going to celebrate!!!
