Hyatt Place Hotel

Here are some photos of the Cafe area and the lobby area of the Hyatt Place that we are staying at in Alpharetta Georgia.

The photos are okay quality, but everything including the rooms are very contemporary with a retro feel to it. The hotel still has some kinks to work out, but it is a great concept.

Georgia Aquarium

Here are a few pics of our visit at the Georgia Aquarium today, I will have more to post later, these are from my phone, Enjoy!
I thought the big fish in the background was dead…Nicki told me he would be floating at the top, so I guess he is not.

A Big Whale Shark…Awesome!!!

Yeah now I see how Jonah fit for three days, plus I kind of see how he felt with something probably larger than this lurking around!

Could you imagine the mass chaos if this tunnel glass broke?

Weekend Get Away

The fam and I are in Atlanta getting a well deserved break from the norm. We are staying at an awesome new hotel chain and concept at that. It is called the Hyatt Place. It is designed with the Coffee House Culture in mind. The rooms are very retro/contemporary and awesome. I’ll get some photos and post them later.

We’ve got a big day planned tomorrow, first we hit the Georgia Aquarium, then we’ll swing into the Coke Factory (Believe it or not, as much of a coke-a-holic as I was before my cleansing I have never been to the Coca-Cola Factory), We’ll probably close out the day by the pool to wear the kids out, and of course we will be dining at all of the restaurants that Augusta don’t have.

Sunday we will hit North Point Community Church (Home of Andy Stanley) before heading home and our Dive-in service/Picnic at TCAG. I think I’ll be more tired on Monday than I am right now!

Thoughts from Colossians: "Wrestling in Prayer"

Colossians 4 (NIV): Verse 12 “Epaphras, who is one of you and a servant of Christ Jesus, sends greetings. He is always wrestling in prayer for you, that you may stand firm in all the will of God, mature and fully assured.

“He is always wrestling in prayer for you” has passion written all over it. The KJV says that “Epaphras…labors fervently for you.” – Whether wrestling or laboring fervently, there is a clear picture that this man passionately prayed for his people and the people of God.

Do we pray like this? I’ve thought about this for a couple of days before posting. I think we would all love to know that we have someone wrestling in prayer for us daily, but on the other hand, could someone count on us to wrestle or labor fervently in prayer for them? Imagine the power that we as Christians would have if we all wrestled in prayer for one another! Imagine the changed lives, the changed country, the difference that can be made through such fervency!

I don’t know that I could say that I have a public knowledge of anyone wrestling in prayer for me on a daily basis…don’t get me wrong, if they do it privately that is cool with me, but truthfully I cannot say that I wrestle in prayer for anyone else either…shame on me!!!

I want to. I desire to. I know I must make changes! How about you? Could you imagine the power that churches would have? The power that your life would have? Prayer is not just a part of the battle that we face as Christians against the evils of this world…it is the battle. I want to pray with the same kind of passion that Epaphras did, do you?

All Star Game Update

I have to give the 2007 All Star Game a C-, and that is being generous!
This was not a very exciting game, in fact I fell asleep, which only happens during boring games.
Maybe all of the excitement happened while I was snoozing? I was able to rewind the bottom of the ninth which was pretty cool to see the NL make a charge at the end, but once again they lost to the powerful AL, 5-4. As for the Braves, they will fair well in the World Series on the road, as they have a better road record than home record so far this season.
