Other New Series In the Works

As I posted yesterday I am currently revamping an older series that I created called “Road Trip,” as I have been studying, researching and planning I have been reminded of some other topics that I want to cover as well in the near future. I am going to be developing these series as well…

  • A series on love (which will cover unfailing love, the mystery of love,
    God’s love, etc.)
  • A series on Evangelism (which will cover Friendship Evangelism,
    the Influence of people, Etc)

I am working on some appropriate names for these series, but they are not my current top priority…I’m writing ideas down as they come to me…

As I was watching an intro video for some of these series I heard this quote which I thought was pretty neat: “Don’t stay until God tells you to go. Go until God tells you to stay!”

Road Trip

I am revamping a series that I created called Road Trip. I got the idea from the
Road Trip Nation: I actually ripped their green RV idea for the logo, and the idea behind the groups purpose inspired the content for the curriculum. It is a long 7 week series, but that is because the main points are derived from the 7 Checkpoints, which I have found can be a great lead in when doing a talk for non-believers, but also is best when used as Discipleship material. I am also creating small group curriculum to accompany the series for our spiritual growth focus. I did this series about a year ago at my former church, but over the past year God has shown me some stuff that will really improve it, so I am re-working it!

I will send it to the PDYM Community in a few weeks so they can post it in their FREE Resource Sharing area, so others can use it. I had some teen counselor lady contact me several months back for the old version, I am excited that God uses my work to help more than just “my” group!

Trust…then…Doubt

I just finished eating lunch with my friend Todd. He emailed me this devo that we discussed at lunch. It is very good and timely! Check it out below:

Keep Recognizing Jesus

. . . Peter . . . walked on the water to go to Jesus. But when he saw that the wind was boisterous, he was afraid . . . ‹Matthew 14:29-30 My Utmost For His Highest Cover

The wind really was boisterous and the waves really were high, but Peter didn¹t see them at first. He didn¹t consider them at all; he simply recognized his Lord, stepped out in recognition of Him, and “walked on the water.” Then he began to take those things around him into account, and instantly, down he went. Why couldn¹t our Lord have enabled him to walk at the bottom of the waves, as well as on top of them? He could have, yet neither could be done without Peter¹s continuing recognition of the Lord Jesus.

We step right out with recognition of God in some things, then self-consideration enters our lives and down we go. If you are truly recognizing your Lord, you have no business being concerned about how and where He engineers your circumstances. The things surrounding you are real, but when you look at them you are immediately overwhelmed, and even unable to recognize Jesus. Then comes His rebuke, “. . . why did you doubt?” ( Matthew 14:31 ). Let your actual circumstances be what they may, but keep recognizing Jesus, maintaining complete reliance upon Him.

If you debate for even one second when God has spoken, it is all over for you. Never start to say, “Well, I wonder if He really did speak to me?” Be reckless immediately‹ totally unrestrained and willing to risk everything‹ by casting your all upon Him. You do not know when His voice will come to you, but whenever the realization of God comes, even in the faintest way imaginable, be determined to recklessly abandon yourself, surrendering everything to Him. It is only through abandonment of yourself and your circumstances that you will recognize Him. You will only recognize His voice more clearly through recklessness‹ being willing to risk your all.

Narrow Ideology

I know a lot of people do not like to mix “religion” and “politics” but I do have to say this…
Hillary Clinton is dangerous for this country. Here are 2 quotes against President Bush’s stand on Stem Cell Research.

Science, not narrow ideology, should drive our national research agenda, and Hillary has pledged to lift the ban on ethical embryonic stem cell research.”

“This is just one example of how the President puts ideology before science, politics before the needs of our families, just one more example of how out of touch with reality he and his party have become. And it’s just one more example as to why we’re going to send them packing in January 2009, and return progressive leadership to the White House.”

In case you were wondering what “Ideology” is, as I was…in a nut shell the definition means the doctrine or belief which guides an individual, group, etc. Hillary Clinton is letting us know up front where she stands with her backing of extended stem cell research. She believes Science and man’s opinion should guide us, not doctrine or belief. If you buy the fact that she, or at least her husband, claims to be a Southern Baptist and has a strong faith, then this country will be in for a rude awakening come 2009. If she does not believe that a person (or President) should be guided by their faith or their beliefs, then this is true for her…she will only be guided by what is popular and man’s opinion. Hillary is dangerous because this kind of leadership will lead our Country into a very bad place. If Hillary believes this is narrow ideology, who’s to say that she will not try to eliminate others from having such narrow ideology as well.

Research it…they are already pushing for such laws that would make a stance for life and good moral standards illegal.

2007 Nissan Altima

My friend Charlie just got a 2007 Nissan Altima. It is very sweet!!!
One of the coolest things is the keyless (literally) entry and ignition…there is no key!
It recognizes the key fob and it opens the door and starts the car wit the push of a button.
Ahhh, the good life!
