Atlanta Falcons 2007 Draft pt. 2

So as I said…

I was not positive on all of the players that were drafted. I’ve been way to busy to research them before the draft, so I gave the Falcons a grade of B- to C+…

Well the expert “Mel Kiper” has spoken and needless to say, I wasn’t that far off…pretty good I guess since I didn’t know any of the players except 1. Here is Kiper’s review:

Atlanta Falcons: GRADE: B
Defensive end Jamaal Anderson was really the only option with Joe Thomas and Levi Brown gone. Plus, Anderson fills a need on defense. Justin Blalock is a big body up front and can play either guard or tackle. Cornerback Chris Houston would have been a risky pick in the in first round, but he presents good value in the second round. WR Laurent Robinson has a lot of talent, but is raw and needs to show he can make the tough catch in traffic. I thought taking him in the third round was a little high, but he does have ability. I really liked what Atlanta did Sunday. Stephen Nicholas has a very good shot to be a productive linebacker. I also liked the pick of TE Martrez Milner in the fourth round. He needs to work on his pass-catching skills, but he is a very good blocker. David Irons, at best, is a reserve defensive back; center Doug Datish could have gone in the third round, and he will provide some versatility, and Daren Stone is a developmental safety and special-teams player.

Atlanta Falcons Draft Rating

I will have to give my Atlanta Falcons B- to C+ on the 2007 Draft.
I will have to research all of the guys better, but due to the Redskins getting Landry and the Falcons settling for Anderson, right now I am not rating them too high.

Good News: Falcons drafted Millner from UGA…

Bad News: The Falcons could have picked up some better receivers than they have, but we’ll see! Maybe Joe Horn will thrive, even though he is older?

Grey’s Anatomy

My wife is watching Grey’s Anatomy…

I’ve never really cared to watch it… (Still Don’t!)

I am sitting here with my laptop, apparently they said something referencing relationships…

My wife turns to me, asks me if that is how I feel about her???

Laptop, Ignoring TV, it could save your life (or at least having to answer ridiculous questions from a TV show! HA!)

Connecting

So, anyone who has worked with Students knows what it is like to get that look while you are giving a message, the disconnected look! We automatically try our best to regain their attention, knowing that the things we are sharing can change their lives.

The greatest look though is the look where you know the students are connected. You can see it in their eyes, they are tuned into what is being said from the front. I love it!
Last night I saw it…I saw in one particular student that she was connected with God.
It was nothing I was saying, but it was through a story from one of my former students and how God changed their life, God is still using this students story in a powerful way. Anyway, 2 students seriously connected with the message last night and they re-committed thier life to serving Christ! I love it when God works!!!
