The Tale of the 4 Cupcakes

There once was 4 cupcakes in a box and a little boy named Tristan.
When Mommy and Daddy turned their head.
The Cupcakes Disappeared…Hmmm! I wonder where they went?

When I was in 2nd grade, my dad was in the living room and we had some bottle rockets in the kitchen pantry, so I climbed in a chair, pulled one down, lit it and it shot through the house and popped!

Knowing that the sound of the bottle rocket had alerted the whole house, I quickly went to cover up my actions, so I did what every 2nd grader would do, I hid the smoking bottle rocket in the trash can, of course my dad had to be a smart aleck and ask me what happened, to which I replied in a similar smart alecky way, “I don’t know!?” (With a shrugging of the shoulders) – too bad that darned bottle rocket was smoking I may have gotten away with it.

Dress Up

I got out of the shower and walked into the living room and this is what Gavin had on, he made his own costume with one of those sleeping bags that fold up into a pillow. My childhood costumes were a little less creative, I would make my own Superman outfit or dress up like Rambo. I guess Gavin has a few extra creative genes in him.

I am Evil

Well, today I found out that one of Nicki’s aunts and uncles thinks that I am evil because I am associated with the Purpose Driven Youth Ministry (Purpose Driven in general) and because I freely and willingly will give the PD Life book to someone who is searching for “purpose” to their life or a PDYM Book for any youth pastor who is looking to bring balance to his or her ministry.

Hmmm…I guess there is nothing to worry about since this is the same couple who will place their hands on you as if they are giving you a friendly gesture, but what they are really doing is “silently casting evil spirits out of you.” I wondered why they always laid their hands on my shoulders!? Their friend has admittedly said that she has tried on several occasions to cast an evil spirit out of my wife’s step dad who is a devoted follower of Christ. I wonder if I can get them to help me fund my trip to the Gathering in September? Probably not.

So do you have any weird family members? What makes them weird or different?

A Wii Bit of Fun

Last Saturday we had a yard sale where Gavin got rid of a bunch of toys and stuff he wasn’t using. Nicki and I were able to get rid of some stuff as well to make room for Hailey. We decided to use the money we made to buy the family a Nintendo Wii. Its something we can all play as a family, its fun and active, and its something Gavin can play, whereas he could not really get all of the functions of my old XBOX 360 down or the old XBOX with its oversized controllers. Here is video of Gavin’s first experience boxing…watch out he’s pretty fast!

Happy Birthday Mom!

This is my mom…Diane Carnes

Today is her 22nd Birthday. She is the greatest mom a son could ask for and the greatest Grammy a grandchild could ask for. As you can see from the picture I get who I am honestly!

Happy Birthday Mom…I love you!
