So I had a little run in with the students of Al Gore and Global Warming. I felt I was doing my duty as an American citizen, but apparently they didn’t think so. I was mingling with the Mike Huckabee supporters as well as those from campaigns such as Mitt Romney and Rudy Giuliani a few hours before the Fox News Republican debate took place. Mitt Romney fans were cheering for their candidate with a wide variety of cheers, but in one section of supporters there were not only Mitt Romney fans but Global Warming fans as well. There was serious competition going between the Romney’s and the Warmers.

There were these two adorable little girls with the Warmers who were doing their best to get the attention of those who drove by. With every car they would yell, “HONK if you hate Global Warming!” Now that could have been taken one of two ways, do I honk if I hate the hoax global warming or do I honk because I hate the global warming is happening, however the girls were giving it all they had. I was trying to be encouraging, but honest when the girls seemed to be discouraged that no one was honking at them, so I told them, “Don’t worry these people know that Al Gore invented the internet and Global Warming.” This little girl had no idea that I was knocking Global Warming, in fact she looked at me and smiled as if she knew this must be the reason no one was honking, but then…

Swooped in the apparent leader of the group or at least the leader of these children, and I felt like I was in the Independent Baptist Church again having to fend off a barrage of guilt trips. The lady ranted, “Oh, you have to take advantage of little kids do you?” So, I politely responded…”You are using these little girls to promote your message, so they are free game!” “Plus, we have to educate our children while they are young, so I am just telling them the truth!” Now the lady never argued with me that I was either telling them the truth or not, she just continued with her same guilt trip over and over…maybe that works when trying to convince people their side of the Global Warming story? Maybe they make people feel guilty thus paying extra money for hybrids and other Green products. To continue in my encouragement of these two young girls, a few seconds later a car drove by in support of Mitt Romney, so when they honked at the Romney supporters I told the girls they were honking for them.

I do give a gentleman in the group credit. He was very polite and we both agreed that Americans together can do a better job at protecting our environment, regardless of our feelings towards Global Warming. I do believe we should be good stewards of our planet. The above picture is a shot from the actual event, you can see more Here, they had a wide variety of outfits, as seen above one person was wearing a snowman costume while others were scuba gear and other costumes, they did stand out if that was their point!

Yesterday I got to hear Mike Huckabee live! It was pretty sweet…I was about 15 feet from him, which is the closest I have ever been to a potential or actual President. My dad was scheduled to speak at the Fair Tax rally in Myrtle Beach before the Fox News Republican Primary Debate. It was a great night of meeting people and being a part of the whole political arena.

Note: The people who were there in support of their candidates were nice and cordial (Even the Ron Paul supporters). It is kind of funny how on websites such as You Tube and other arenas for political media people are a lot less friendly behind a computer screen than they are in person. It kind of makes you wonder who the true person is, the one behind the computer or the one in person?

Also, it was amazing to me to see the passion and the enthusiasm people showed for a political candidate…a human being. We would see a revolution in the church if Christians were as passionate and enthusiastic about Christ as they are about men who can really do them no good!
