Thoughts from Colossians 1

I just finished going through Romans and started reading and studying Colossians 1 (NLT) today: I’ve had a desire to deepen my prayer life, because, well it has just really been horrible in comparison to what it should be. As I went through Colossians, here is some of what I found (and of all things it dealt with prayer!!!) I desire to pray like the great people of the Bible prayed, so here are three things Paul said he prayed for the people of Colosse for, I think they are transferable both to pray for others and ourselves:

1. To have complete understanding – of what God wants to do in our lives (not what we want to do in our lives).

2. That God would make us wise with spiritual wisdom – So that our lives will reflect a life that honors and pleases the Lord.

3. To be strengthened with God’s glorious power – To produce the patience and endurance that we need in life.

** One last really cool thing I got from Colossians 1: Paul is talking about Christ’s death on the cross, and how that has made us His friends…even those of us who were “far away from God!”
He says as a result of Christ’s death we stand before God holy & blameless – without a single fault, really cool. Read Colossians 1 for yourself!!!

Independance Day Fun

Here is a small section of the fireworks finale last night at the Patriots Park. The fireworks actually kicked back up for another 45 seconds after the video shut off. What you can’t see in the video is that we were making our long trip back to the parking area, and when the Grand Finale went off, everyone stopped and watched. As you can see the view was awesome from where we were, but it was cool to see traffic and everyone stop to watch the fireworks.

I saw Transformers!!!

All I can say is awesome!!! I loved it and it was worth 26 years to see. There is no way when I was a child or even a teen that the technology could have pulled this baby off. This is the best movie I have seen in a while, it was full of action, destruction, a great deal of humor, and of course the sentimental part with it being the transformers. There is a little romance for the sappy, but this is all it is supposed to be!

Josh Griffin had the opportunity to review this movie about a week ago and I must say he was dead on with his rating and his review…good stuff, Read his Review
Transformers is worth the money to see in the theater and to buy for your home collection!!!

Craziness at the Theatre

Today I went to see Transformers, probably the biggest movie of the summer, and at three different times right before the movie started a family comes in with a huge amount of people and gets upset that they cannot sit together. It was about 15 minutes before the start of the movie and a family of 9 comes in, it was way too late to expect 9 seats all together! I got there 30 minutes early and I only saw two or three seats open in a single section if that. Right before the previews a family of 5 comes in, same result, and then during the previews and right before the the start of the movie a family of 7. They decided to climb the stadium seating and stand by my row to fuss…which brings me to my point, do these people never go to movies or is it that they never go to huge movies on opening day?

You cannot come in as late as these people did and expect to find seats all together with a movie like Transformers!!! To make it worst these people had young kids who cannot just sit alone and you really cannot leave sitting beside a perfect stranger…that’s my rant!!!
