The Power of One – ESPN Video

You’ve got to watch the entire show about this young man, Adam Bender, who was born with cancer and had to have one of his legs amputated. This boy has one of the biggest hearts I have ever witnessed to overcome an obstacle that could have kept him from living life to its fullest. This is a true testament that you can do anything you put your mind, your heart, and your strength to. Between THIS story about Brandon Marshall and his huge heart to help people in need while he himself is confined to a hospital bed waiting to die and Adam Bender, I feel about an inch tall, but I can see a bright future for this generation. They definitely put a lot of the adults I know to shame, and that’s sad! What I see in these boys is pure Passion and passion can move mountains!

What’s Your Excuse?

Brandon Marshall is an 11 year old boy who is dying of Lukemia…he has one dying wish, to feed the homeless, this is a touching story that is well worth your time. Do you have a blog? Share Brandon’s story there. Vision can be shared from a hospital bed.

This is one more example of how Jesus will use anyone to bring about his plans and his purposes, he’ll even use the sick. If you think you’ve got it all together, you may just be eliminating yourself from being a candidate for Christ to use.

I think Brandon may ask, What’s Your Excuse for Sitting on your Butt?

P.S. You may need a box of kleenex.

Signs, Signs, Everywhere a Sign

WELLINGTON, New Zealand — It seemed like an almost literal answer to their prayers. When two New Zealand pilots ran out of fuel in a microlight airplane they offered prayers and were able to make an emergency landing in a field — coming to rest right next to a sign reading, “Jesus is Lord.” [Read Entire Article]

When is the last time God answered a prayer for you, and it was as obvious as Him putting a sign right in front of your face? Share…

Donald Miller:

On Leadership…

  • How Donald sees Leadership: A person who gets to know you in such a way that makes you want to take ownership or part in their vision.
  • Jesus influenced many, but led 12.
  • A leader gets to know people.
  • A leader invites people to own their vision and to take part in the vision…gets people involved in fulfilling the vision.
  • Leaders need to be following someone, if they are not being led, we need to be cautious about following them.
  • A leader’s ambition should be huge and absurd.
  • Attempting BIG things will emulate a process of thinking big in those that we follow (I.E. Our Children)
  • Leadership does not allow people to watch “the vision” happen, but to be a part of “the vision.” (Donald told of a story with an annual San Diego Parade and how it began…great story!)
  • Leaders speak something into nothingness.
  • God has asked us to lead; he has invited us into the vision.
  • Eventually when you have an idea, you give it away to the place where people don’t even know that the original vision and idea came from you, it grows and expands because of ownership.
  • My Challenge: To lead like Jesus led.

How Great Is Our God? A Personal Story!

Yesterday morning Nicki was freaking out because something was taken out of our bank account earlier than it should have been (the problem with direct bank withdraw), and so she is scrambling to figure out how we can cover the extra expense in case our house payment check cleared so it would not bounce (the problem with being blessed…but not so much financially). Anyway, all I did was pray, “God, you are sovereign, you control everything even the waves of the sea, please take care of this problem for us!” Now, I am not saying that Nicki is less spiritual than me, but I do believe she has the gift of worry! She also saw there was really no way to cover money that isn’t there, after all, you only bring home what you bring home.
