Holidays = Hospital
Well we had a very interesting Holiday season. This time it was fun for Christmas eve and Christmas day. Nicki has been sick for the past week or so with a lot of vomiting, and after a point her medicine would not work anymore on an empty stomach, so we ended up spending all of Christmas Eve afternoon and evening in the ER, and then they decided to admit her for the night, we did not get out until around 11:40 a.m. on Christmas day.
Last month it was my turn, as I have posted earlier about my Appendectomy on Thanksgiving day, so for 2007 our holidays have turned into trips to the hospital which has been no fun! Overall Christmas turned out to be good, but it certainly did not start out that way.
Do Not Waste Christmas
Perry Noble has a very sobering post on his blog, here is an excerpt:
I had no idea that night when I went to bed that my mother had just spent her last Christmas with me. I imagined there would be more, lots more—with food and gifts and her laughter. But in July of that next year she was diagnosed with cancer…and she went on to be with Jesus in November at the age of 49.
The next Christmas was silent for me—I did receive gifts and we had a tree…but the joy was gone. I distinctly remember thinking, “If I had only known last Christmas was going to be her last I would have spent WAY more time with her.” I had made the mistake of thinking, “Everyone will be here next year.” But they weren’t…which leads me to…

Karate Kid Gavin
I got this video while I was sneaking a peak at Gavin in his Karate Practice. He’s a natural Karate Kid, in fact we watchedthe movie tonight for the first time together. He feel asleep, but I enjoyed the entire movie.
